| Transformers |
| Description: |
Inside one of the power generating buildings at this old Bethlehem Steel location in San Francisco. My friend and coworker got lucky by gaining access to one of these decaying buildings. These structures still produce power, they even use some ancient Transformers. I believe these date back to the 1930's or 50s?. Check out the oldskool levers.
Bethlehem Steel wasnt the only corporation that operated here, but it was the first. US Iron Works and BAE Systems once occupied these buildings and I think BAE still does, which is scary. These buildings are well secured even if they are falling apart. Massive fences lined with barbed wire hug the exterior of these buildings. This day was just a good day. We got lucky.
The transformers are on both sides of this room. These recently constructed shelters are to protect them from the leaking roof.
Appologies for the quality. No tripod and very little time inside resulted in high ISO and quick shots. |
