From my visit to Mare Island a couple weeks ago. I walked the perimeter of this enormous building for over an hour. Looking for ways to get in, climbing stairs, testing doors. In the end I had to settle for a opening in a window and a missing doorknob. This is a view looking north from the south entrance of the Mare Island Naval Shipyard Machine Shop. This building dates back to World War 2. |
